Omar Trevino

Co-Owner & Academy Director otrevino@ntxrc.com

Omar began his tennis journey at age 13 at Gary Kesl's academy in Fort Lauderdale, FL — one of the premier development programs in the country. His work ethic and talent led him to become Mexico's National Champion in both the 16's and 18's age divisions and achieve a top 20 ranking in Florida.

After earning a Division I scholarship to the University of South Alabama, where he studied Marketing and International Business, Omar dedicated himself to coaching. Over 15 years later, he specializes in developing players from beginner through top-ranked junior level, with a particular focus on mental toughness strategies — the area he considers most critical to competitive success.

Alejandra Suarez

Alejandra brings two decades of experience in education — mentoring youth and adults through sport, community, and personal development. Her foundation in tennis coaching evolved into an elite-level padel career representing the United States at the international stage.

She competed as a member of the USA Padel team at the 2019 Pan American Games and the 2022 Senior World's Championship. As NTRC's Public Relations and Membership Director, Alejandra focuses on community engagement, ensuring that every member — from first-time beginner to competitive athlete — feels welcome and supported.

Nico Osorio

Tennis & Pickleball Director nosorio@ntxrc.com

Born in Bogotá, Colombia, Nico was a top-ranked junior before earning a full scholarship to Belhaven University, where he served as #1 singles and doubles player and Team Captain. He completed his MBA while coaching — combining academic and athletic discipline.

Nico holds both USPTA and PPR professional certifications, making him one of the few coaches at NTRC credentialed across both tennis and pickleball at the professional level.

Nick Checo

Tennis Coach

Nick brings a strong competitive background to his coaching. A DPTA Masters Tournament winner in both 2014 and 2015, he competed in the State Grand Prix as Team Captain and earned a Silver medal. He has been a USPTA certified coach since 2019 and has spent five years coaching within the OT Tennis Academy program.

Nick graduated Cum Laude from the University of North Texas in December 2023 with a degree in Recreation, Event, and Sports Management.

Gianni Lopez

Tennis & Padel Coach

Born in Mérida, Venezuela, Gianni was a top 5 junior national player before moving to the United States for collegiate tennis. He played at Collin College — where his team was ranked #5 in the NJCAA for two consecutive seasons — before transferring to Quincy University (NCAA Division II), where he set the school's single-season wins record.

Gianni holds Wilson certification and RPP Padel Certification Levels 1 and 2, bringing elite credentials to both his tennis and padel instruction. He has nearly four years of coaching experience.

Heidi King

Tennis Coach

Heidi brings an extraordinary record from her time as Head Coach at Wakeland High School, where she was named Coach of the Year five times and led her teams to five Texas state championships, multiple district and area titles, and three regional runner-up finishes.

Her academic background includes Kinesiology and Psychology studies at Dallas Baptist University and the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse — a foundation that informs her thoughtful, player-centered approach to coaching at every level.
